What to Expect on Your Appointment

Clinic assessment may require from 4-7 hours. For more complex medical-legal and neuropsychological examinations, an additional half day is sometimes necessary. Functional Ability Examinations (FAE), a physical mobility evaluation, normally require 4-6 hours for 1 day assessments, and an additional 4 hours each day for 2 or 3 day Functional Ability Examinations.

Rest and lunch breaks will be provided. With the exception of FAE examinations, most of the time is spent seated, with opportunity for stretching breaks as necessary.

Patients should bring a list of the current medications, and any corrective lenses.

Persons under age 18 should be accompanied by a parent, guardian or rehabilitation worker.

Assessments normally require interviews and completion of written materials. For persons with weak English skills, aid is provided. Many of our forms are available in other languages. Culture-fair testing can be conducted. Where necessary, arrangements for Interpreter aid can be made. No preparation in advance is required.

Treatment, counseling and case management sessions normally last 60–180 minutes with breaks available as needed.
